KC's new hair cut

Today, my daughter and I had a hair cut courtesy by Jem V. Kathlyn did a great job sitting while Jem was cutting her hair, although she was quite a little wiggly costumer. It was just a slight trim, because I want to see her hair grow longer when she turn 5 years old. Her hair color is completely different than mine. My hair is black and her's is light brown :-).

Thanks ate Jem for cutting my hair...I love it!
This is my new hair style ...with bangs :-)
Thank you very much Jem for the free home service and hair cut!

Sick Day

At 4 o'clock in the morning I heard noises in the living room. It was my husband and Gerald doing something early in the morning. When my husband came back in the bedroom, I asked him why they woke up too early. He said that Gerald has been using the toilet every five minutes since 3 o'clock in the morning. Wow! I didn't ever hear any commotion for one hour? I must have been in my deep sleep.
Anyway, we decided to keep GJ at home today and did not send him to school. At 7:30a he probably used the toilet more than twenty times. Imagine how uncomfortable that is to have diarrhea. So, most of the day I only feed him pedialyte to keep his electrolytes balance and hoping that he will feel better soon. I don't know why my kids get always sick towards the weekends every time and doctors offices are closed on weekends! I can't take him to the pediatrician not until Monday, and I don't know how long do I need to keep him on pedialyte. I only fed GJ a can of pediasure before bed, because I gave him aspirin. Other than that, he was completely pedialyte fed throughout the day. Hmmmm, now who am I gonna ask for in this kind of situation...think think think!
this is cute! Madisen was admiring her brother's whiny face..he doesn't feel good, sweetie!

Teacher / Parents Conference

Gerald Jay is awarded as a student of the Month!!! Yay!

I had a conference with GJ's teacher. I actually seen his improvement since the past year, and we are all glad that he is learning. The teacher Ms. S said that Gerald has changed a lot since the last first time in kindergarten. He is still be delayed in many areas of his growth and development, but at least he is moving in the right direction. At school, he is the life of the party even though he is not talking. Ms. S said that he always makes her happy because Gerald would mumble words and followed by laugh. He does it to me too and Ms. S and I have the same answer which is " what did you say? I wish I could understand what you just said". Sometimes I look at my son and always feel that I neglected being his first teacher, but I am so glad to see him running around and healthy as he could be. He may be very delay in language and speech but he is so smart. I am hoping that one day he will just tell me in full sentence " don;t worry mom, I will be alright".
And he was awarded as a student of the month! Yehey!  I am really proud of him.

So far he learned:
  - to write his full name without tracing it ( but he have a very sloppy hand writing. We will work on that extensively)
   - he is counting clearly from 0-10, but from 11 and so on it wasn't clear at all ( I know most children starts counting when they were at 2 1/2 to 3 years old)
    - his attention span increase from 1 minute to 5 to 10 minutes. If he like the particular activity, he could stay in that activity for half hour or more though.
     - he finished 100 books challenged before Christmas ( we actually read it to him and he stayed most of the time.
    - he loves his new gadget and learn more from it (leap pad).

Over all the meeting went well and  Gerald got a positive feedback from his teacher. I also like the nurse at his school because she is so involved in GJ health and academic goal.

Thanks to Ms. S and Nurse M.
and
Praise be to God!

We found the COW

Yup! We found the old cow. It was in our neighbor's backyard. He was so delighted to see his original cow.
now he have two cows...

he loves them both

he give them kisses!
He is one happy kid and more happier when the old cow is found!

The lost COW!

Gerald had a favorite fluffy cow. It was given to him by his Uncle when he was 6 months old. Ever since he had that cow it has been his favorite toy amongst his stuffed animals. When he was two year old or barely two years he lost it but after four months we found it in the safe. The joy in his eyes when he found that cow was priceless. He asked for it every day and he even say " the cow is gone" that was his very first  and last complete sentence that I heard from him since. He is still not talking clearly right now, but he uses sign language sometimes.
Anyway, couple weeks ago he lost his cow again. My husband and I have been searching for the cow since last week and even to this very day and seen no signs of cow in our house or our property. He has been asking for it even waking up in the middle of the night looking for his cow. We asked him many times where he put his cow, but I guess he couldn't remember anything. Then, yesterday afternoon when I came back home he pulled my hand and said " cowwww". I said that I couldn't find his cow. But he took me and pointed at to neighbor backyard, so I think he toss the cow over the fence and not realizing that we couldn't get it until we ask our neighbor.
I was a little stressed about it since my husband spent most of his time looking for his cow. SO I went online and was hoping to find one of the same cow that Gj had. I was very fortunate to find three of the same cow on ebay. So, I bought three of them, one is like brand new and the other were used. Well, who cares my son will be happy to see the cow again and he would not care if it his original cow or not ( I am actually not sure , but we will see). Today, the two new purchased cow arrived. I sat on the table and we are so curious of what his reactions is gonna be...
the new cow was waiting for him on the table on sissy's bimbo chair.
His reaction was pretty much self explanatory in the pictures that I took. It was worth it!
but
He checked it well and he probably say in his mind " they washed her" ;-) This cow is a whole lot whiter than the old one.

We only gave him one and hide the other one, just in case.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentines to everyone!

We had a pretty exciting day today and by the time I sat down the was almost shot. Wow! time fly so fast when you are having fun.
Anyway, our Valentines day was pretty busy. In the morning, I have school and in the afternoon the girls had their doctor check-ups, and last but not the least we killed our non producing egg chicken.
Ralph got me fresh tulips and a card for valentines day :-) which is I like it so much! Thanks hon!
My husband and I
My first flower ;-) love it! You'll only got flower one in eight years I better be loving it!
My girls on Valentine's day.
Madisen's 1st Valentines day and she got that purple outfit and a card same as ate Kathlyn.
Kuya GJ waiting for the school bus...hmmm I didn't realized that he didn't comb his hair.
Kuya GJ has been very good and the bump on his head still there although it subside a little bit. The only problem I have for him is his lips getting so chappy. Over all and health wise... he is good !
Ate KC at the doctors clinic just took her to the pediatrician because she was having diarrhea and fever.
Ate Kathlyn seen the doctor too, because she has been sick for few days. But the doctor said she is doing well as long as she eats healthy food and drink lots of fluids. So she is good too!
Madisen's 6 month well check.
Madisen had her six month well check. Her weight now is 19 lbs. and 14 oz. She is a little late on the physical activity skills I should say ( like the rolling over and stuff). She is still on her tummy pretty much most of the time, but she is turning around like in circles...so she is getting there. The doctor said that she is pretty much a boring baby compare to my son( hlhs). Thank God!

CHD Awareness Week!

Today is the start of Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) Awareness Week. One in 100 babies are born with Congenital Heart Defects every year! My son is one of them out of 100 babies that year born with a rare heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. He had his very first open heart surgery at 7 days old. He had numerous heart caths and four open heart surgeries and few other side effects. He overcome all of that and right now he is "stable". He very active and he never stops!
Please help us spread CHD Awareness!
I thank God for saving my son's life and thank you Jesus for everything!

School Award

Gerald received another academic award from school. I don't think he really understand that we appreciate his effort, but I am happy to know that he is improving a lot. He might not be talking, but he is definitely learning something. His attention span increase a little bit. At his school they have a program called 100 book challenge that means they have to 100 read books for  entire school year. When we started reading to him, he would not stay for five minutes sitting and reading the book. He just want to run around the house and do other stuff. But now I am glad to see him sitting quietly and reading with us.
Anyway, today I went to Gerald's school to show support for my son's education. Mr. G was holding him still because if no one was holding him you will see him run around the stage. He is very active and the more you told him not to run the fastest he go. Anyway, Mr. G is his favorite teacher's aid at school. They take good care of him at school, so I am very thankful for them.
After the ceremony, I ask GJ's teacher if I could take the picture of all of them but I guess special ED kindergarten are hard to redirect and it was hard to  take a nice class picture; therefore, I only took Ms. Stone and Gj's photo. As you can see one of his classmate kiss GJ on head. I think it was cute!
Ms. Stone is a wonderful teacher and I thank her for her teaching.
Lastly, I stopped by at the clinic since GJ was due for his feeding. I waited for him and he was so happy to see me again. Posing with Angelina and Nurse Melody. Nurse Melody was very good at him and so nice that he really care about her kids at school. Gerald pre-school nurse was no were close to Ms. Melody's service. I thank her for taking care of him.
Overall I am very proud of my son efforts in everything!
Way to go baby and congratulations!

Worth to Celebrate

Today, I have so much to be thankful for and it is worth for a simple celebration.
First of all, it is my birthday. I am in good health and have a beautiful family to keep me busy.
I thank you Lord for giving me another year of life and blessings!
Secondly, today is also our 8th wedding anniversary. I thank God for keeping our marriage safe, strong and happy! I love this man very much! He is my husband, my best friend, my lover, my provider, and the love of my life!
Another, kuya GJ has been doing so well health wise and so as Ate KC.
And last but not the least, our youngest daughter rolled on her tummy by herself.
Just this morning her dad and I talked about her not rolling on her tummy yet. When KC was a baby she rolled on her tummy when she was at 4 months and 1 week old. So dad was worried. I guess she heard it and doesn't want mommy and daddy to worry at all :-). So yay! for baby Maddi

Thank be to God and Praise you Almighty Father.

White Tanks National Park

Wow! It is 15th of the month already! 15 more days and this month will be over time flies so fast!
Lately, we've been busy in our house and household chores. Like today we went to White Tanks National Park. Ralph had two unexpected days off, so he suggested to do something different than going to Children's Museum. I been to this particular park long time ago when I don't have any kids yet. It was good to be back to that place again. The place have changed a lot though. at the entrance  of the park they built a Library/ Museum and they added playgrounds for children... those weren't there before.

Gerald love to go places, and he enjoyed playing by himself or with other kids. Kathlyn just being a bossy sister she kept telling Kuya Gj what to do. Madisen on the other hand, she still so small to do some activities with her siblings. Daddy Ralph brought some wood and burned it in the grilling area even though there was a big fire pit near by :-) he didn't see it. I on the other hand tried to heat up the frozen pizza in the skillet ( weird as he said) but what am I gonna do the pizza was frozen!!!

After we had our lunch we tried one to the trail. We took the stroller but it was kind rocky along the way. I asked some people that been in that trail they said it was a good trail and not much rocks. It wasn't true rocks were all over the place, but we made it. We just did the whole loop until we found the pave road. Then  the stroller became very handy since Gerald gets a little tired already. Madisen was giggling the first quarter of our hike then fell asleep all they way until we finished our hike. All-in-all we had a great time!

 Reheating my frozen pizza

In the middle of the trail
My kids and I. Madisen's first hike so as her siblings

Praised God for a wonderful day!
