I registered Kathlyn to the nearest community center, so that she could join some of the cool programs that they offered at the affordable cost. Next week, she will be joining the ballet and the pre-school. She was so happy when I told her that she's going to dance and she will be attending school soon. I just couldn't believe how fast kids grow.

Kathlyn's 2nd year Well- Check
Kathlyn had her second year well-check today. She received only one poke today ouchhh! She is a tough girl, so she didn't cry much. About KC's health wise, "she is perfect" as Dr. Gerald Golner said. Oh by the way, we love Dr. G. He is "THE BEST" pediatrician in town :-).
Kathlyn and Dr. Golner |
Gerald Jay and Dr. Golner |
What we like about Dr. G is that he gave the kids fair attention even it wasn't GJ's time to be check!
Thanks a lot Dr. G. Golner !

KC's birthday --Part 2
Last Saturday, we celebrated again my daughter's second birthday. This time we served Filipino foods since all our visitors are Filipinos. My friend Rose was kindly enough to come over in the morning to helped. While my husband kept my kids entertained and do some cleaning. The weather wasn't cooperating with us it was raining and windy. Anyways, here are some pictures that I would like to share from the morning we woke up till the party was over.
She woke early too, when she realized that I was not in bed. I was gonna bake the cake before my kids gets up, but they decided that they are not gonna let me do anything. Their dad went to the dumping station that early morning.
Gerald was up first and starts wondering around the at 6 am. As you can see his hair looks like something ;)).
Here is Rose. She came early to chopped some onions and carrots for me :). The onions made her cry, but she said she has technique so that it won't make her eyes teary. And for the records she made 100 spring rolls that day :-). It was very kind of you Rose to come and helped me cook. Please accept my gratitude from the bottom of my heart! Thank you!.
For our lunch, I cooked rice and "laing" a filipino dish for Bikol region. It was made from taro leaves and coconut milk.
Thanks to all for coming and made my family very happy. It was a fun night and I hope we can do it again.

BIG 2
I woke up early yesterday morning to baked some cup cakes for my daughter's birthday, since we already celebrated her birthday three days ahead. I have some left over icing from the cake I figured that I can put it on the cup cake and put candles for her to blow. I woke them up at 6:40 am. Big brother have to go to school at 7:20 am.
Here she was, just woke up and was happy! Happy Birthday to you my little princess! I tried to put a headband on her head and she keeps taking it off.
Her little cup cake! She didn't like the candle being lite up Kuya GJ blow it for her.
My daughter at TWO years old!
Before my husband left for work yesterday he told me to take pictures of her at 5:30pm since that was the time she was born ;-) and I did!
...and more photos of her and kuya GJ
We will be celebrating her 2nd birthday party again this coming Saturday with my Filipino friends.
I can't wait to see them, and I can't wait to see my daughter's reaction once we sing a birthday song for her again.
Have a great one and thank you for stopping by ;-)!
Birthday Celebration Part 1
Greetings to all!
I've been lazy updating both my blog and my baby book for my kids. I thought that I can do the blog everyday to keep the mile stone of my kids growing up, but I still slacking it! Bad mama!
Anyway, we celebrated my daughter 2nd birthday last Sunday since daddy had a weekend off. But her official birthday not until the 6th of April. It was a very nice small party for the family. My daughter loved the attentions like other typical kid. We all had a wonderful time and my daughter had a blast!
This is the only nice pic that I can brag about :-). I bought her a tiara and a princess necklace and to tell you the truth she likes it. She still wearing the necklace until now.
My kids with their grandma and Aunt Susan. They both getting a fair attention :)

Because I was ignoring her, she climbed back to my bed and sat on my face! Literally on my face and said, "EWWWW!". Yeah! I got the message now lol. Then she told me "les go!" and waddle to where all the diapers loacted and kept saying " ew ew ew"... YUP! she needed a diaper changed! lol
I am hoping to potty train her really soon!

Climbing 10' high
McDonald is the restaurant to be! geees, I am tired of McDonald food, but what I can do? my kids only tolerate a restaurant if they have a place that they can play with. Anyway, after the cardiac clinic we went to McDonald to have breakfast like we normally do :-( kids likes to play at the club house. And today Kathlyn climbed all they up to the top of the club house and went down on 10 foot high slide. Not only that, there was couple incidence that she climbed up from the slide up to the very top of the club house. She has no fear! Gj stayed down on the small slide... he was afraid to slide down that high.

Little girl in the easel
The kids were playing in GJ's room when I went out to get my camera in the living room. I saw them playing together, so I decided to take some photos of them. when I came back in the room. I couldn't find my little daughter, so I looked and looked around the house. Gerald was laughter at me and pointer her sister in the easel. I thought she was cute!... She was excited to be in there too!

Bloody Nose
We went to the church and attend the morning mass . We stayed at the children's room since my kids are very unpredictable of when they are going to be bored :D. Half way of the homily my boy was asking us to leave :(. He shouted "pooopeee", so I told my husband I will take him to the bathroom. I told my husband to stay with KC, but she followed us. Anyway, GJ though that we were gonna leave without finishing the mass, but mommy want to finish it hehehe. We all went back in the church and there was KC had a bloody nose! I probably use like 30 pieces of wet tissues (or torchh...whatever they call it) but still her nose keeps bleeding. So, that was the end of it we have to leave early. Oh boy, I have lots of friends there that would surely like to chat with me and my kids. Anyways, KC's nose bled for quite a while and hubby gave her a bath afterwards.

She called me "mommy"
My only daughter finally learn to call me "mommy" yeheyyyy!
I was cleaning our bedroom last night when she needed me for something and she called me "mommy" with a smile on her face. I was so happy to heard that word from her.
She was confuse for quite awhile of what to call me. She normally call me "daddy" or " boobie" ;-) hahaha. But now she figured it out that "mommy" is the right word to call me. She is 19 1/2 months now. She's talking a lot now and using signs too.
I love you baby K!

Sick Baby
Yesterday, we went to visit my mother-in-law and to celebrate mother's day with her. The kids were very excited to see grandma. They ran around the house and so happy. But! I already feel that KC was hot, and I just ignored it because it was very hot outside too. It was 102 degrees when we drove back home.
Anyway, after we visited mom, we went to Walmart store to look for a double stroller. And KC started to fussed and I thought she was just sleepy, but I knew she nap for quite a while in the morning. I told my hubby that she is not feeling well. and he said "its just hot!"
But when we got home, and all of us took a nap and her she was very hot and temp was 101. But
... even she was not feeling well, she ate well. She woke up at 8 pm and when I fed her she went right through her food! And...
even ate her brother's food!
This morning she is still feel warm and I hope that she feel better soon! I love you baby K!

Shoes!
I bought my daughter shoes over the past few weeks and the other day. Since she is still growing really fast, I tend to buy shoes that are a little bit bigger than her feet. Also, I normally buy stuff when it on sale! Never buy stuff in full price.
Well, I was sorting through which shoes that she can wear now, my husband asked me to take the pictures of her colorful shoes. So, I went and grabbed mg handy dandy camera and focused it but...

GJ jumped in the view... and so as
KC helped her brother missed up the piled of shoes ( only 4 of them hehehe)
... and here they are! As you can see, they are enjoying it!
But I managed to take a photo of her nice shoes on her feet! She's the one who picked it up from the store! Talking about 11 month old baby can chose what shoes she want!
and still missing around ..and GJ with his favorite cow!
...and finally the shoes! sizes 5 and 4
gosh.. her feet is getting bigger!
GJ was not finished yet... as you can see he has plans
...putting the poor cow on the top of the shoes and KC was watching every move he make!
..and the cow over the shoes
...then he left, so I got a nice pic of her and her shoes!

Winnie the Pooh Earrings
Today I changed Kathlyn's earring to a winnie the pooh earrings.
I got it on sale at K-mart and it looks good on her. I didn't know when you get your ears pierced you have to buy to that particular store the earrings that they are gonna put on. So, I bought this one before hand. Just now I put it on her.

At the Park
Indian Steel Park in Phoenix, Az
We went to the park to attend the first family annual picnic hosted by the Mended Little Heart Organization.
My kids had a great time at the park, but my husband was really tired after chasing kids here and there.
Kathlyn explored a lot today and I am glad that she did ...at her age that is her job as part of growing up.
Here are some of the souvenir of today's event!
She sat still although she wanted to run around just enough for me to take a pictures of her.
The dress that she was wearing was given to her by Auntie Rose W. and her kids ..Ty tita Rose, Megan and Mac

KC had her ear pierced today!
Since Kathlyn was three months old, I really like her to have her ear pierced, but her was objected about and said I can do that once she turn 12 months old. So, since she is now 12 months old she got her ear pierced! At least people will not say she's a boy when she wears her brother's old clothing :)
It was my idea to have her ear pierced, but I closed my eyes when the lady did it. My friend Erica was with us and took this photo ( special thanks to Erica for coming with and taking care of KC :) very nice of you). Kathlyn cried a little bit and after a little she continued sucking her lolipop that the lady gave her. She was really good. She didn't even touch it afterwards.
Also today, we installed the toddler car seat since she was way to long in her baby car seat. She seems to like this setting :) happier

Big O-N-E, UNO, 1
My little girl just turned ONE!
Celebrated at the Enchanto Park
She was wearing a yellow summer dress given by her aunt for her first bithday.
Since she is a good eater, I gave her a small plate of "pansit bihon" to munch on while waiting for the rest of our visitors :). She kept the noodles on the plates for few minute and then turned her place upside down :(
It was a small celebration, but we all had fun I hope!
We can't call a day without taking a family photo. KC had a sppon in her mouth and Gerald was excited to get down on the ground and throw rock on the water nearby.
Princess... Happy 1st Birthday ~ love Mommy, Daddy and GJ

Walking through out the day
What a busy day today! Well it was just me since I have exam in Nutrition tomorrow. But anyway, I only care how my kids are doing every day and wanting to record it (if I find time, and I trying too). My husband takes pictures and video, and I am the one suppose to record it every time ( I was slacking it).
Anyway, today Kathlyn walked most of the day. I guess she finally figured that walking is a lot better than crawling J. I noticed it every last day of the month she is doing something totally different. I guess that is a part of growing up.

She was wearing big brother's old clothes :)
She will be turning a “ Big 1” pretty soon, and I am so excited about it. Wow! Time flies so fast, and my kids are just keep growingL, but it’s a good thing!
He turned the tent upside down!
As far as my GJ is concern he is doing better day by day. His everyday routine is just quite challenging and busy. He goes to therapist three days a week and more doctors appointments and school. One good thing though , HE LOVES GOING TO SCHOOL! He will be turning " Big 4" pretty soon too!

She is finally walking!
My eleven month old daughter is finally walking. Not just steps , but she walks now. My daughter and I were in our living room watching the TV at 10:40pm when she initially stood up and tried to walk few steps. I saw her that she was happy with her accomplishment and therefore , I tried to put her a little further than the first try. Not long enough I saw her stood up and walk to turn the TV off. That's where I work hard to encourage her to walk across our living room She did put ammmm probably 25 feet of total walking tonight. Hurry for Kathlyn
My little Kathlyn smiling.
She pushed that red chair towards to that drawer so that she can mess up with her brother's component stereo :) be careful mama!

They Trashes!
When I was young I never have a nice toy like my children has in their room.
I would not call GJ's room a bedroom since his room is full of toys. It should be called playroom. Anyway, during the night before they go to bed at 8pm (only GJ coz he have school in the morning) I normally let them play together. By the time they finished playing the clean room turned into a mess.
This mess in the picture was nothing compared to the other days. But they had fun that is the most important.
My daughter in this picture was watching the TV too and putting toys in her mouth. Glad that those toys are bigger and a lot cleaner. Oh well, it will boost her immunity :)

First Step!
We took the kids to the nearby park yesterday and have some photos taken. Gerald had a great time running around in the big area and walking on the train track as well. We also capture Kathlyn very first step while I was playing with her. She is really learning to walk now :) it is the time she is almost eleven months old.

Saying "Daddy"
Hubby keep reminding me to write on the baby book every time my kids do or say word for the first time. I normally respond "yes" but forget to do it. For now, I will write it here until I find my baby book or may be I was just lazy to grab the book which it was just right in front of my desk hayyy.
Anyway, today I was feeding my little one she keeps calling "daddy", and she understand what that means because when daddy came back from school she called him again twice with grin on her face. She also says "cat" and "bye". She has been walking with assistance for three weeks now and learning to stand by herself for more than a minute. This is new to me because Gerald started standing when he was 16 months old and walk at 20 months. Gerald had a lot of going on, so he was delayed with his physical activities and speech.
Gerald also have been saying some word with sign language like "cold, stop, more, please, thank you, cow, and bye". He also starts drinking milk through a straw again. So, we are pleased with his progress in feeding and hoping that he will continue to do that and finally eat solid food.
Another, Kathlyn first time ate beef jerky last Monday Feb. 21. I thought she can't eat it because beef jerky is hard and salty, but she ate it. Oh boy, what else she can eat and do now?
This is it for now, and I am hoping to be more active of updating their baby book and my blog.
Thanks ~ Nelda

Kathlyn 10 months
It is very late for me to update about my daughter's 10 months mile stone, but I will still do it :) just for the record. She just bit me while I was gathering my thoughts about her :) my little stinky!
Kathlyn at 10 months
She was able to more:
- Free standing and dancing at the same time
- walking on her feet and knees holding the walker
- had 4 upper incisors, and 2 lower incisors
- bubbling
- understand a little words like " give"
- emotion ... like when I say no in harsh voice it seems I hurt her feelings
I bit there's a lot more and only these I can come up. I will add more to this post whenever I can and remember stuff that she do every day.
--- Gerald is doing great! He had a valentine card for us today :)
Happy Valentines to all!

Kathlyn is 9 months old now
Time flies when you are having fun, as they say. Yup! My little daughter turned 9 month old today. She is totally transformed into a very active little monster :). Yes, she give mommy and daddy a hard time all the time, and make big brother cry over toys. Whatever big brother have in his hand she wants it too. Oh boy! I guess that is what baby do. Anyway, she is my little angel that is growing quickly. She know what music is and she can even dance now. WOW!

My five months old daughter
Taken August 8th, 2009 Kathlyn starts sucking a pacifier for a longest time. From that point, she only suck that pacifier
My little daughter is very easy to take care of. She only complain when she's hungry and had a dirty diaper. It was very strange feeling that I don't have to feed her through the feeding tube and zero medications. I am just so bless that God gave me a perfect child to take care and nurture. She is now five months old and starts to rolled on her tummy.
