Winter Party 2011

Atherton’s Winter Party 2011

Today we attended the winter party hosted by the Atherton’s family. This probably our third year to come to this party and every time we come over my kid or kids always had a great time! I would like to thank the Atherton’s Family for being so generous and giving our kids an opportunity to experience of one of a kind event.
Anyway, my kids  the same as usual they had a blast! We enjoyed the food, and all  the great things that provided for our kids such as icing some cookies, snow J, clowns, Santa Claus + gifts and more.

Gerald is a happy go lucky kid. If he sees some kids are playing he can’t say he wanted to play with them, but he will just go and join them. He left his sister and just go in his way to the play ground and play with others.
Kathlyn on the other hand gets her priority straight… food first before anything else J. After she had her lunch I gave her the gloves and she went straight to the pile of snow and started making a small snowman. She didn’t care what the other kids was doing until she found out that throwing a snow ball is a lot more fun too! Then big brother joined her and they had such an amazing time playing with other kids. I should mention that Gerald didn’t care to sit on the snow and wet his pants. Also, he was enjoying to know that his pants was falling on the ground! Glad mommy catch right away but people sew it! Pretty entertaining GJ.
Madisen enjoyed her self too nibbling the pizza crust. This was her first time to attend the party and first time taking photo with Santa Claus. She was up and she was really good at the party. After I put her back to her car seat she cried a little bit and fell asleep.

It was an awesome day at the party  and we went visited granda Marla afterwards. Oh I should mention that this time Auntie Susan was with us and drove us to this party since dad had to go to work. Thanks a lot to Aunt Susan for donating the time and fun!

MAdisen's First Week of Eating SOlid food

December 11, 2011

Madisen has been  eating solid food for almost a week now. I was gonna let her try the solid food for her when she’s 6 months old, but I think she can’t wait any longer. At the party we went to last Saturday she was really sucking the pizza and she was angry when I took away from her. So, today I bought few gerber infant food from Walmart. I gave her carrots and men she almost finish the whole container in one meal. In the afternoon I tried to feed her cereal and she was spitting it out L do I have a picky eater in this house again??? No! She can’t do that Hashanah. Anyway, before she went to sleep I feed her the rest of her carrots but it wasn’t enough so I had to open a new container of carrots for her and she almost finish it again. What a good girl!

Another, Kathlyn can ride the training bike now. Wow! I think I need to get her a new bike since she uses her big brother’s bike and poor GJ he normally ended up using ng tricycle. Good thing about it that Gerald really doesn’t insist to get his bike back and let Kathlyn use his bike. I am very proud of GJ that he have a long patients for his little sister.

Chirstmas PHOTO

We didn’t send GJ to school today since his teacher was concerned about him being sick yesterday. He had two accidents at school and his teacher didn’t know why he was not tell her that he need to use  the bathroom. The teacher asked if something wrong with GJ and I said he was fine. I apologized that GJ had two accidents at school, so I told hubby not to send GJ to school this morning so that we can observe him. Nothing happened.
Also, since GJ stayed home we decided to take photos family photos at the downtown Glendale where they decorated probably 20ft Christmas tree for me to make a Christmas card. That didn’t go well at all. GJ and KC just want to run around on separate ways. When I finished putting the camera up I asked Ralph to get the kids together and KC just didn’t listen when Ralph picked her up she yelled “help” and cried from the top of her lungs. Yup! That was a bad idea. I didn’t have a good picture to make a card this year. Oh well, I am glad that Hopekids gave us the opportunity to have our family photo taken last September… I might use that instead. Thanks a lot to Hopekids of Phoenix ...you saved the day!
My 4 month old Madisen was the only one who never give us a grief today and pose they I want her to be. What a good girl!

K1: Fall Festival Event

Fall festival event at GJ's school. We were just on time when we arrive at school to watch GJ's sung a song that they prefered for the family to hear. I saw GJ he couldn't just stand and sing ... so the male instructor stand by his side all the time to redirect him. My boy!

So, it's 11-11-11

It's 11-11-11 so I blog again hahahaha!

So what happen in 11-11-11??? Well, in my house kids normally make their room messy. Yes, messy! Or to elaborate more it's kinda like tornado hit their room. Anyway, my husband finished putting up the fence in our front yard (finally), and today he was cleaning the front yard up. Since GJ doesn't have to go to school today, I let Gj and KC run around in the front yard to wore them out instead of watching the TV.  We actually had a great bonding time today. I played skipping- toe ;-) just don't know the name of the game but I used to play it when I was young. We draw on the porch using a chalk, we played basket ball and etc. Then tonight before KC went to bed she kissed me like twenty time and I asked her what it was for she reply " shhhhhh" and kept kissing me. It made me laugh and made my night so wonderful. Gotta love all my kids.

G-tube was out again

I was at the Phoenix Children's Hospital around one o'clock in the afternoon when my husband called me and said " Gj's G-tube is pulled out again what am I gonna do?" Yes! He doesn't really know how to put back in a new mickey button. So, today I let him do it! I had to hurried back home because the doctor told us that if the button is out for couple hours the small whole in Gj's stomach will close. Once it close they will have to do the surgery again to put the button back in. So, I thought dad to put it back in and he was amaze how easy it was :-) to put back in.

Halloween 2011

Our Halloween night went well. This year I made my two kids a costume ( first time)  I was inspired by Ashley of make it and love it.com she got tone of tutorials.Anyway, my home made costume is not as perfect by it works. Here are photos.

 Percy the tank engine
My Cinderella dress was not perfect, but Ashley have a great tutorial for it and she made a beautiful one for her daughter. I have to revise mine since it was too big for my daughter.
Here is the  revised version. She feels like a princess is just don't wanna have her picture taken.
 My boy.
Madisen was very irritable and just don't wanna be touch and that is Halloween for her :-)
Big brother enjoyed watching other trick or treaters walking around and he was swinging his basket upside-down until his candies falls of the ground and mommy has to pick-it up for him. That's my boy doing and laugh out loud.
KC was greatful to have candies and she say "thank you" to everyone gives her cnadies. Good girl!

ANyway, the kids had a great time trick or treating last night. I just take them to couple houses since I don't want KC to have too many candies. Also, most trick or tr-eaters are adults ;( what's up with  that???
I hope you guys had a wonderful Halloween night!

My New Born Madisen

Well, it took me awhile to update this blog :-)
Anyway, I already had my 3rd baby. She was born via c-section. She is a heart healthy baby and weigh 8lbs even.  My surgery went really well my attending physician is Dr. Hetal Shah from Arizona Women's Specialist. He is a good doctor. Thanks to him a lot!
I don't know why right after the surgery as soon as I moved into the recovery room I always get sick. Not only this time of delivery but with my three c-section I remember I always get sick. There is something with c-section and me that never get along and I don't know what it was.

Soon to be FAMILY of 5!

It's 3:12 am! yeah and I am up and blogging. I been having discomfort sleeping in the last two months of my pregnancy. Sometimes I sleep on the recliner but lately the weather is very warm as well as in my house since we do not have air conditioner in the entire house... ughhh I know its sucks!

Anyway, last night we took some family photos since later today we will be seeing our new family addition.

Gerald Jay will be 5 years old and 2 months. He will be starting kindergarten next week on the 10th of August. He is a very active boy, but he still not talking. However, he said something that made my eyes teary  the other day. He knows some sign language as his means of communications so far. Anyway, I was sleeping in the recliner when he woke me up and signs " I love you, Mom!" that made me a little bit emotional. I can remember there were times that he didn't even know how to hugs us. I LOVE YOU TOO big boy!

Kathlyn on the other hand have done so well in terms of growing. She is 28 months now and she is very talkative. She already throw me out of my room couple times... yeah at 27 months old  she did that! I can't believe it and I was stun! Anyway, she is very helpful, loving, and have good manners.I hope she will stay the same :-)... I LOVE YOU , baby K!
Anyway, the last look of our family of 4! We been blessed and thank God for guiding and taking care of us!
So far, I am the mother to two precious babies! I am so proud of them! and very excited to the coming one!
I know my kids will be a good big brother and big sister!

School: Kindergarten

After visiting the pediatrician, I went to GJ's new school to drop off the feeding plan that the school psychologist and I requested for Dr. G. I was glad that I went to his school because I didn't know that I have to filled up a enrollment pocket and signs a bunch of stuff. The school didn't send us any letter or anything. I didn't even received any letter for the teacher's meeting night. Also, I thought that all school have the same school uniforms. Yup! I bought my son's uniforms already and found out that he can't use them at this current school...what a bummer! I had to prepare everything before I go for my surgery this coming Saturday which the 6th of August. I wished I have known that school have different school uniform preference duhhh!

Another, I finally settled the feeding issues that we have concerns about. Since this time GJ will be full time in Kindergarten, I would like to have the full feeding at school. Last school year, they didn't feed him the amount of milk that he needed to take and every time he comes back from school he was just thirsty and hungry. But this time I have the prescription for it that they have to feed GJ every hour and half. I also let the nurse know what I really want them to do with his feedings. I signed some feeding schedule at the nurse office, and I just need to bring more of GJ feeding supplies today.

5 year old Well Check

Gerald had his five year old well check with Dr. Golner his pediatrician. As I turned left to 12th street on the way to the clinic. Gerald was making some choo choo noises. I was surprised that he can remember the clinic. We haven't been to his doctors clinic for quite awhile. We were concerned of how much he can understand and remember, and this proved me that he can certainly remember something. Which make me happy :-).

Anyway, the doctors visit went very well. Dr. G told me that if he didn't know him and didn't his scar he will not think that Gerald is a heart kid. and will worry about the language and feeding problem. He also commented that Gerald looks pinkish and not blue anymore. Dr. G was very happy to see his improvement, and I have to admit my son looks fantastic since the last heart cath in 2010.

We love his pediatrician and we always have a positive outcome on every visit! Thanks to Dr. G!

Thanks be to God for all his grace and care!

School and Zoo Adventure

I had a crazy schedule for the month of June. I was taking the COM 270 at Mesa Community College which was quite a distance from where I live. I was taking the bus and train to save some money for gas, but it doesn't save me time at all. It took me total of four hours in one day to commute. Sometimes, my husband take me to school in order to save time, that was very nice of him. When I get home I have to study for my daily test :( spending less time for my two precious kids. The good thing is it is not as bad as regular semester. Summer class is just four weeks, and I finished it with an "A" grade. Thank God! A little sacrifice was paid off!
Taken 6-30-2011 the day of our finals.
Sabrina, Nelda, Sarah, and Amy

Anyway, we took my kids to the zoo today. There is an advantage if you are a zoo member because you can get in an hour early as early as 6 am. So, thats what we did today. I woke up the kids at early morning and headed to the zoo. Not so many people at this early hour and even some of the animal were still asleep! But anyway, my kids had fun.

All switched to day feeding

We been working on Gerald's  feeding schedule for the past 3 weeks now. I am proud to say that we are successfully switched him from a night drip to day feeding now.  He needs 1200cc calories per day of pediasure, but we add 500 cc of water to make up the difference to upto 1700cc per day. He gets so dry during the summer if he doesn't get enough fluids. Anyways, we have no throwing -up episode at all on his day feedings and no problem at all. He is now in the normal feeding schedule like the rest of us. It nice to switched because we do not have to wake up early in the morning to turn-off the beeping feeding pump or to clean up the floor because of the feeding bag broke, none of that now. His last feeding is at 8pm and that's it! This way we can completely potty train him during the night.

We still have working on the oral feeding though. We have come to the point that he can taste every food that we ate now. I just need to teach him how to chew and swallow solid food. At this time a feeding therapist comes in handy if we have one. I hope the services that he is on provide an hour feeding session per week, but they don't! I even offered to the his case manager that I would give up two of his services in replace for a feeding therapist because that is what he really need at this time. Still, they won't do that! What a big frustration!

First Movie: Kung Fu Panda 2

Kung Fu Panda 2 was an awesome movie!

As I mention in my previous post... today was our first time to watch a movie in the theater after five years. It wouldn't be happening without the HopeKids of Phoenix.  So I would like thank Hope for their program and generosity.

Anyways, when we got to the theater door 7 ( I just writing the door number just for the record for my kids to remember someday) it was showing the sneak peek for Happy Feet 2. Of course my kids were excited since they have been watching the first movie of Happy Feet so they already know it. Okay, so they were so calm. When the movie started Gerald was really interested and sat for about fifteen minutes. While my daughter was fascinated about the colorful and big screen :D. Anyway, a little while later GJ started saying, "pooppyyyy" so I took him to the restroom. That is his one way of saying I wanna go out or do something else. But he did use the toilet though. On the way back to the movie room, I got them a kids combo snacks. Some of the popcorn dropped on the floor and GJ started picking them us. I told him that it was dirty already, but he still want those popcorn and when he waved his hands upward something happened to his left eye and he scratched it ( until now it still painful). Probably salt or something got into his eye.

So , we went back in the movie room and he was doing alright. Kathlyn (2 years old) on the other hand was enjoying the movie (thumbs up for her). While GJ started being fussy again, so I took him to the lobby and we stayed there for 40 minutes and I got to chat with other hope moms. Gerald was happy running back in forth in the hallway.

Anyway, I saw part of it, but I can tell you that this movie was a good one! I should let Gj watch the first movie and introduce him  to panda before we watch it. Well, that was a good start though. Cars 2 he might do well on that because he already watched the first DVD gazillion times. If it wasn't to our Nurse Gigi who gave him that movie I wouldn't know that there is a movie like that :-). Thanks to Nurse Gigi for that!

Thanks a lot to HopeKids again for another great adventure! More power!

Harkins Theater in Arizona Mills, Tempe

Cinema: For the first time in Five YEARS

Today, we are going to watch a movie in the theater courtesy by Hopekids. Gushhh it has been awhile since my husband and I watched a movie together. I told him yesterday that we missed a lot of movies and we don't even know where the entrance and exit of the theater hahahaha. Anyway, my heart boy is five years old now and he likes to watch some movies on DVDs, so today we are taking both of my kids to a movie theater. I just don't know how my boy will react since this is gonna be his first time to be in the movie theater. I know my daughter will do well, since she is a trill seeker! We are going to watch Kung Fu Panda 2.

Thanks to HopeKids for the great opportunity to take my kids to the movie.
