A ruffled skirt and a tank top for my little daughter

I made this skirt and the top couple days ago, and it cost me probably $.50 for both. The labor is priceless! I love to see my kids wearing my creations.

My skirt to my little girl's dress

My skirt

This was my skirt way back then. After couple pregnancy, I gained few pounds that more of my clothing weren't fit me anymore. Since I have a limited capacity in my closet, I had to do something useful to all my old clothes. One of them is this skirt. I turned this skirt into my little girl's dress. Here it is...

Little girl's skirt

Tonight, around nine o'clock I didn't hear any noises around the house. I locked-up my self in the study room and let my husband takes care my kids. Well, hubby had a good sense of taking care the kids :-) they put them in bed. Well, normally between 8 pm to 9pm my kids are saying " night night".

Anyway, since my are all in bed, I feel bored. So I decided to take all my scrap fabric and laces laid it on the floor and stared at it for 15 minutes think of what to do with it. Then I finally came up with making a new skirt for my little daughter. I read some blog that have tutorials for making skirts from this blog . It was very easy to follow. So, here is my finished product...

Girls dress

My first ever made child dress!

I finally did it! I've been wanting to make a dress for my daughter for a long, and I just finally done it! But first I have to check some websites with tutorials on how to make dresses. You wouldn't believe that there are more people who would spend their time to teach you how to sew. One of them, is the make it love it. I just her tutorials. She also made a blessing dress for her daughter ...love it love it! I hope I can make one similar to that someday!

Anyway, do not mind what I say about studying ..lol. Anyway, on black Friday I went shopping :-) I think everyone did. I went to Joann's store and they has tons of deals. Some of them are the glass beads. I bought some of the glass beads only the cheap ones. And here's what I made this evening...

Adult's pants to little girl's pants

Okay okay I am so excited to share this with you. I have been searching for some good patterns for sewing or anything online, and I found this site the rookiemoms and the handy home project they have great ideas that you can think of. Plus I would like to give credits to my few friends who have been inspiring me to saw. My friend Claire and Adin has been professional now for creating new ideas. Thanks ladies!

DADDY's old pants to Daughter's new pants
Anyway, after checking some website link above. I started making this pants from my husband's old pants that he wanted me to mended for him since the knee part were all torn up. But instead of mending it I created a new pants for my daughter.  This was my very first pants project. I thought it came out good, but it was not a girly style.

So, I decided to add ruffles around the waist just below the ream line. Then I noticed that the bottom part was not really good. This is what happened when I was not paying attention to what I was doing hahaha. Instead of cutting the end part ...
I have tons of ruffles :) so I sewed some on the legs and covered the torn part of the pants.
 And here it is!
Pants that was once an adult pants to a little girl pants!
Thanks for stopping by!

boy's cloth to a girl's dress 60's style

I have been thinking of what to do with all my son's baby clothes. Since, my second one is a girl, I decided to modify some of my elder son's baby clothes. This was my first attempt.
This was my son's clothes when he was 15 months to 2 1/2 years old. It was given to him by one of his aunt and I just hate to see it in the closet and not using it anymore, so...
I modified it from a boy's outfit to a girl's dress :)... my model has a beautiful smile in here.. we also just got that new slide so she was so happy. Anyway, I bought that ruffles for a dollar a roll ( 20 yards), I cut off the tail part of the clothes and sewed the ruffles around the tail and on the arms of the clothes. That is the outcome. Here are more of her wearing the modified baby clothes.

I will do more modifying since I don't have enough money to buy new baby clothes hahaha.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great one!
